About UsThe Midwest Faceter's Guild is a vibrant community with a shared interest in appreciating and promoting the art and skill of faceting gemstones.
Our members have a vast array of experience and gladly assist those with varying levels of skill and knowledge, especially the beginner. We love to share our passion and experience by teaching and sharing information at our events, our annual faceting seminar, at regional gem shows, and on our website and Facebook page. |
Our MissionOur main purpose is to educate our members and introduce and educate the public in the art of faceting.
It is also:
-to promote education and recreation to develop the art of faceting
-to exchange information related to faceting -to provide meetings for those of like interests -to promote the achievement of individuals |
Our Service AreaOur service area encompasses the Midwest including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska (Eastern portion of state), North Dakota (Eastern portion of state), Ohio, South Dakota (Eastern portion of state), and Wisconsin, however we welcome all who are interested in faceting.

EducationWe're proud to offer an annual faceting seminar where beginning and advanced Faceters come together for education, practice, and community. Membership in the Guild is not a requirement to attend.

Regional Show CalendarRegional Shows provide educational programming, contests, and access to vendors offering tools, rough, and finished goods. All dates are subject to change due to Covid concerns.

OUR meeting Schedule
General Meetings
We have an Annual Membership Meeting in October and additional membership meetings as needed. Since our group covers many states, we are transforming our approach and transitioning to more Zoom workshops where members can learn and share. Some meetings are open to all while others are specified "Member Only". |

Our Affiliations
We're proud members of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies, a group promoting interest and education in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology and lapidary.

We're also proud members of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, whose purpose is "to promote popular interest and education in the various Earth Sciences, and in particular the subjects of Geology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Lapidary and other related subjects".

Membership has perks!
We're building and growing. In addition to community and "The Midwest Faceter", our signature newsletter, members have access to a private group on Facebook where they can ask questions and chat with other members about joys and challenges. Members also receive access to private areas of the website, and to educational Zoom & in person meetings with nationally known leaders in our field. Membership in our Guild also provides membership in the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies.
